Dumaguete is in the Philippine province of Negros Oriental. The city is nicknamed The City of Gentle People.   The archipelago is home to more than 3,000 species of fish and 448 species of coral – where the underwater topography combines unbelievable muck-diving with pristine coral reefs and shoals of schooling fish.

Nearby Apo Island, is one of the world’s top diving locations. Apo is a small volcanic island located in the Bohol Sea only about an hour away by boat from Dumaguete. Diving around Apo Island is considered “the best” of the Visaya’s because of its great corals and dense marine life.

Top Sites: Apo Island (amazing walls and coral), Punta, Ceres, Sahara

Water Temp/Gear to Take: low 80Fs so take 3mm to 5mm, macro and wide angle lenses for photo/video, HD/LED lights

Places to Go:  Take the ferry across to Oslob in Cebu to snorkel with Whale Sharks, Hit the town for great seafood on the main road near the water, stay at the Atlantis Dive Resort in Dumaguete.
